Caught Off Guard

It's a rare opportunity when we break out of our confines of habit. When I started on this piece, I had a vague idea of an action pose, and started hashing it out. The goal originally was to put forth the idea of a nanite based biosuit which I had been asked to redesign for SecondLife. I started toying with the idea, and the inked piece was done.

When I sat down to color it, I knew that my typical method of coloring wouldn't cut it, so I more or less ditched -every- technique I've ever used and started from literally Zero.

Through that, and about 13 hours of work, I managed to achieve two things.

1. An amazingly cool kick-ass picture.
2. A style of coloring that I've been trying to achieve for years, but couldn't with my normal methods.

This just goes to show, sometimes you have to forget what you know, step outside your comfort zone, and see what happens.
